Kto miał styczność z supportem Adobe to wie, że jeżeli zrozumiemy hinduski akcent, to w 95% poradą będzie "przeinstaluj program/system/komputer".

Hi Marcin

Many thanks for the article link. I've had a read through it and I'll address some of the issues that were highlighted at the end of the article:

- If a selection being ripple cut or ripple deleted includes a portion of a linked audio/video clip, the clip will inexplicably (and frustratingly) become unlinked after the selection is removed.

I can feed this back to developers. Resolve does have it's own way of working when it comes to linked clips but I can feed this back.

- Ripple cut doesn’t close gaps on the timeline that are included in your in/out selection.

I am using Resolve 14.0.1 and this works in my version.

- Ripple delete does close gaps, but doesn’t add the deleted selection to the clipboard.

Using the ripple cut function will perform a ripple delete and paste the clip to the clipboard.

- I couldn’t figure out how to copy and paste timecode from the timeline or source monitor, a feature I consider non-negotiable in an NLE

This can be fed back to developers

- Creating a compound clip breaks any media with an alpha channel, simply displaying black. This bug severely limits the quality and level of vfx work you can do in the timeline.

This has already been reported to us. The work around to this is to change the composite mode of the clip to Add which will key out the black background of the Compound Clip.

- I couldn’t find any display that tells you how many clips you have selected in a bin, or even how many clips a bin holds.

If you select multiple clips the metadata window tells you how many clips are selected.

- The more footage I added to the project, and subsequently, the timeline, the less responsive my project became. In particular, the command “reveal in media pool,” a tool I use constantly to return to any given scene’s bin, became unbearably slow.

Resolve has a performance mode option that can be switched on, something that is recommended when working on a laptop. It would also depend on numerous factors such as the spec of the MacBook Pro, size of graphics card, where files are being cached such as thumbnails and waveforms (if on the internal drive which is fairly full it will slow down the caching so such things as reveal in Media Pool" will slow down) It also depends on such things as specs of hard drives etc. Looking at the spec of laptop a 2GB graphics card is not recommended for long form editing and audio mixing.

- Severe audio dropouts became an issue as the timeline grew in audio complexity. Sometimes just a few frames would cut out, other times, I couldn’t get the audio to start playing again without relaunching the program.

See the same answer above, it could be a number of factors that are slowing the process down.

- Rather than project files, Resolve uses “databases” where it stores and manages your project’s information. While this method has benefits, it can be confusing to an average user, especially one who’s used to swapping Avid bins or a Premiere project files.

Using databases has it advantages especially when using our new collaboration tools which allow editors, graders, and audio mixers to work on the same project at the same time, something that cannot be achieved with a simple project file. You can simply save a project by exporting it from Resolve and saving it wherever you need to.

I will feedback the suggestions to our developers, and hopefully this has answered some of the questions in the article.

Many Thanks
